In January of 2012, I was struck by an idea for a story. It was an idea that grew and developed through the years. I worked on other projects during that time. But I always came back to Life and Other Complications; because I believed this was a story that needed to be told, and I had come to love the characters.
After workshops and critiques, rejections and countless revisions, the story was selected for publication with plans for the book to come out in 2020. And then, COVID. But today, nine and a half years after I began, Life and Other Complications is being released into the world.
And thanks to early reviews and the pre-orders they spurred, the book launches as #1 in its category on Amazon! Amazing!
As the wonderful Sarah Aronson says, once a book is released, it belongs to the reader. So with great love, I send Life and Other Complications into the world. I hope that Aly’s story inspires you as much as it has inspired me.
