Caroline, of Life and Other Complications, is somewhat preoccupied with coffee, particularly espresso. For me, some of the funniest lines in the book involve Caroline and espresso. But the idea of a character being obsessed with coffee has been around much longer than I’ve been writing.

The award ceremony has been postponed due to COVID. But yesterday, Life and Other Complications was named the 2021 Readers’ Favorite Silver Medal Winner in Young Adult Fiction Related to Social Issues.

Thanks to early reviews and the pre-orders they spurred, the book launches as #1 in its category on Amazon! Amazing!
